{"id":135,"date":"2026-05-28T08:26:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T08:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thetimesnigeria.com\/?p=135"},"modified":"2026-05-28T08:26:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T08:26:11","slug":"the-election-has-no-winner-or-loser-says-senator-sabo-nakudu-after-adc-jigawa-primary-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thetimesnigeria.com\/?p=135","title":{"rendered":"The election has no winner or loser, says Senator Sabo Nakudu after ADC Jigawa primary win"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Jigawa State after winning the party\u2019s primary election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The result was announced after more than 48 hours of vote collation by the chairman of the election committee, retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Ahmad Zaki.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the official results, Nakudu secured 35,939 votes to defeat his only rival, Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Adamu, who polled 19,537 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The declaration brings to an end the prolonged collation process and positions Nakudu as the ADC\u2019s flag-bearer for the forthcoming governorship election in Jigawa State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Election officials said the final results were compiled and announced following the completion of the state-wide collation exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement issued shortly after he was declared winner, Nakudu thanked members of the ADC for their participation in the primary election held across the state\u2019s 287 political wards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI wish to thank members of our great party, the ADC, for participating in the statewide primary elections that took place across the 287 political wards last Monday,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cYour peaceful conduct and active participation show our resolved commitment to fighting bad governance we are facing at all levels of government in Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nakudu pledged to work with party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen unity and internal democracy within the party ahead of the election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs the duly elected governorship candidate of our party in the forthcoming elections, I commit myself, together with all stakeholders and party leaders, to strengthen our internal party democracy and unity at all levels,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also called on other aspirants to support the party\u2019s efforts towards victory, stressing that the primary contest should not create divisions within the ADC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe election has no winner or loser.
